Why is John McCain Afraid?

Why is he afraid to talk to our adversaries? Why does he lack the courage to meet Ahmadinejad face to face?

Is McCain, like Bush, afraid he will be outsmarted by him? Is McCain afraid he will appear weak, like talking isn't macho? Is McCain simply terrified of strangers and only comfortable talking to friends? Is he afraid that negotiations might actually introduce solutions, thus depriving him of a glorious war against some pissant country?

Why, pray tell, is John McCain so terrified? This quaking cowardice is an unattractive feature in a national leader.
